Founding Partner of Peña & CIA, Bufete de Negocios, S.C., and Federal Public Attester No. 36 of Mexico City, has more than 25 years of professional experience providing legal and business advisory services to companies across various industries, both domestic and international. His expertise includes corporate restructuring, due diligence processes, acquisitions and divestitures, corporate structuring, commercial contracting and transactions, financing, real estate operations, corporate secretarial matters, among other areas.
As Lead Partner of Corporate Legal and Head of the Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers Mexico, Lázaro developed extensive executive and leadership experience. He also completed a secondment in Washington, D.C., and served as Diversity, Inclusion, and Corporate Social Responsibility Lead Partner within the firm.
He currently serves as President of the College of Public Brokers of Mexico City and as National Coordinator of the Commercial Law Commission of the Ilustre y Nacional Colegio de Abogados de México, where he is also a member of its governing body.
In addition to holding the appointment of Public Broker No. 36 of Mexico City granted by the Federal Government, Lázaro holds the following academic credentials: Master's Degree in International Commercial Law, Certified Valuator of Intangible Assets, Going Concern Valuation Specialist, Real Estate Valuator, Valuator of Industrial Assets, Machinery and Equipment, and Attorney at Law.
Alongside his professional practice, Lázaro has a distinguished academic career. He is a professor in the Master's Program in Corporate and Business Law at Universidad Panamericana (Guadalajara Campus) and, for more than twelve years, served as professor at the Monterrey Institute of Technology (ITESM), Monterrey Campus, teaching courses on corporate law, obligations, property and succession law, comparative commercial law, and procedural law, among others.
With more than 18 years of experience as a valuation expert and Public Broker, Lázaro has conducted valuations of shares and equity interests in both public and private companies, as well as valuations of intangible assets and properties. His valuation work includes transfer pricing, trademarks, know-how, contractual rights, debt restructurings, receivables, options, machinery and equipment, industrial facilities, hotels, commercial developments, and other real estate assets.
